Books We Love

On Monday, March 3rd, Irwin kicked off its week long Read Across America activities. Fifth grade students from Beta Club were guest readers in the 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms. The fifth graders diligently picked out the books they read and practiced the art of a read aloud before they went live on Monday. The younger kids enjoyed seeing their schoolmates leadership skills at work!

This week was a whirlwind of excitement as we celebrated the joy of reading! Mustangs eagerly dove into daily school-wide Drop Everything and Read sessions, creating a buzz of literary enthusiasm throughout the halls. The festivities didn't stop there— adult guest readers brought stories to life in classrooms, captivating students with their animated readings. The creativity soared as students crafted a vibrant rainbow, each color representing their passion for books. Classes paired up for partner reading, fostering a sense of community and shared love for reading. Even the Book Fair, managed by parent volunteers, was here!  It was a week to remember, filled with unforgettable moments and a deepened appreciation for the magic of books!
